I go for regular facial threading once every 2 months or so. Usually, the hubby would accompany me to Little India for my facial threading sessions. This time I was invited to review the ancient art of facial threading at Reflexion Beauty Centre.
If you are new to facial threading, here is a short definition from wikipedia :"Facial threading : a thin cotton thread specially designed for threading is doubled, then twisted. It is then rolled over areas of unwanted hair, plucking the hair at the follicle level. Unlike tweezing, where single hairs are pulled out one at a time, threading can remove short lines of hair."
Facial threading is the most common method of removing facial hair and this method was well known in ancient times.
Here are the advantages and disadvantages of facial threading :
-Brighter and smoother looking skin.
-Similar effects to a mild session of IPL.
-It is useful for areas like the upper lip and the eyebrows.
-Cheap hair removal treatment.
-Effect is temporary.
-Procedure has to be repeated periodically.
-Frequent threading can cause skin irritations. On sensitive skins, redness or a rash might occur.
-Avoid threading on areas with eruptions, like pimples or acne. An ice pack can be applied to soothe the skin after the treatment.
The lady at Reflexion Beauty Centre was very adept at this skill and within minutes, she was fully done with my face.
Expect to pay about SGD$18-20.
